The NFL- The National Foodstamp League

Today the owners of the 32 NFL teams voted to award Super Bowl L and Super Bowl LI to two lucky cities. The 50th Super Bowl will be held in Santa Clara, CA, a suburb of San Francisco. The 51st SB will be in Houston, TX.

The big story here, however, is not which cities won, but the one city that lost- Miami. More the the point, why Miami lost is the big story. Continue reading

Warren County GOP Leadership Will Not Follow The Rules. Rules Are For Peasants, Not Leaders

The following is a direct quote from an email I received last night from The Warren County Republican Party.

“The Warren County Republican Party’s Board of Directors met on January 17, 2013.  At that meeting, the Judicial Screening Committee provided the board with its report and recommendations on candidates to be submitted to the Governor for the Juvenile Probate and County Court seats.  After discussion of the Judicial Committee’s report, the board decided by a 10 to 2 vote to accept those recommendations and requested that Chairman Nichols notify the Governor’s office that the following candidates” Continue reading

How Driver’s Ed Schools Cheat Kids AND Parents

I watched a situation in Middletown today that would have been laughable, but for two facts. First, a young girl was trying to learn and was obviously frustrated.  Second, her parents’ money was being squandered. The girl may eventually pass the test but the method used by the instructor will not help her be a safe and skilled driver. Continue reading

A Lifelong Democrat Writes About: Democrats, Gun-Control, and the Assault Weapons Ban

This is a guest article written by Kristi Waters, a lifelong Democrat. The opinions contained herein are hers and I have submitted it unedited. As always, I welcome anyone, regardless of political affiliation, with an informed opinion and civil delivery to submit guest articles at robert@libertariangop.com  –RW
Democrats always find a way to ruin their opportunity to show Americans why the Democratic platform is right for America. We got really lucky by winning this past election but now what happens? Evidently, Joe Biden decides that he has no interest in ever being president. Republicans probably had 2016 wrapped up but Gee Joe…thank you for making sure that they win. Making the gun issue a central part of 2013 will hurt the Democratic Party without helping the country. What a waste!!!! Continue reading

Gun-Control Solutions: Register Intimate Partners. Ban Caucasians from Public Schools. Regulate Blacks in Big Cities.

Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark, NJ, appeared on the MSNBC program Morning Joe this morning, and to the surprise of no one called for more gun-control. Not very groundbreaking stuff, right? The Mayor of a a city that has proven a complete lack of ability to police the their streets and protect their citizens, the Mayor seeks to absolve himself, and the government of “the City of Murderwerk” by blaming Constitutional rights, jealous boyfriends, and irate ex-husbands for his city’s high crime rate. Mayor Booker says that of 50% of women that are murdered in this country are murdered by intimate partners. Sit down, we need to have a national conversation. Continue reading

Lindsey Graham’s Lust for War vs Chuck Hagel’s Moderate War Stance

“I’m not a pacifist. I believe in using force, but only after a very careful decision-making process. I will do everything I can to avoid needless, senseless war.” Sen. Chuck Hagel

The United States continues to suffer under the “leadership” (for lack of a better word) of President Obama. One of my chief gripes against the President is that he, like the three presidents before him, is a warmonger. Now at long last the President has put forward an idea with which I can agree- the nomination of former Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel to be Secretary of Defense. Continue reading

Hobby Lobby Hypocrisy and How Mike Huckabee Enables Stealing from Taxpayers

The Caucasian Jesse Jackson is at it again. While most preachers are out in the cold world preaching the gospel, running charities, and winning souls, America’s second favorite celebrity entertainer politician preacher, Reverend Mike Huckabee, cannot be trifled with such menial duties. Continue reading

Why “Xmas” is Appropriate

I am starting to see Facebook posts that say something like “Get the X out of Christmas!!!!”, “Keep Christ in Christmas”. Every year I try to remind folks in as friendly a way as possible about the meaning of the Labarum, it’s history, and why Christians should do their due diligence before jumping on the fake War on Christmas bandwagon. Me or Karl Rove

We are going to find out who is smarter- me or Karl Rove (and his billion dollar political machine).  In an article in the Wall Street Journal Rove says Romney will win with at least 279 electoral votes, but he thinks probably more. I think Karl is suffering from a little wishful thinking. Continue reading

If You Disagree With Them, Silence Them

Leftist Florida professor suspended after concerned parents complain

This is a case of over-policing. The teacher has a right to her opinion, regardless how crazy. It happened at a community college, not to 3rd graders. At what point will we get government out of our daily lives? The government should not be a security blanket that shields us from those with whom we disagree. At some age people have to start thinking for themselves, and, being challenged. Critical thinking skills are honed by debate. If the parents or students do not like the way she teaches they can vote with their dollars and go to a different school. Getting her fired, or logging on to Facebook to call for punishment, is too much. For what? Her opinion. That is a bad practice for society to adapt.
